I find it surprising that I have heard nothing about the Winter Olympics until today, when someone asked me whether I planned to attend any of the events. I guess this illustrates a recurring pattern: “The mind of a man plans his way, but the Lᴏʀᴅ directs his steps.” (Prov. 16:9). I plan to go here or there at this time or that, but often, something else happens. If I had been aware of this, I might well have not planned to go to Korea next month.
This might continue another amusing pattern: I have spoken Italian¹ in Netherlands, studied Dutch in Spain, made a Taiwanese friend in Spain, and spoken French² in Taiwan. God only knows what’s coming in Korea.
